A Little Bit about me:
I am originally from North Carolina (High Point), but I joined the Army after high school. In the Army I served as an Internment and Resettlement Specialist (AKA: prison guard). After I got out of the Army, I moved to Idaho. I lived in Idaho for 15 years (2001 to 2016) before moving back to North Carolina to take a position with Halifax Community College, and, eventually, here at Southwest Edgecombe High.
For my BA, in English, I attended Idaho State University (2001 to 2005).
For my MFA, in Creative Writing, I attended Boise State University (2007 to 2010).
I have been teaching, at the college level, for ten years. This is my first year as a K-12 educator, but I am excited and honored to be here. I have taught for Brown Mackie College, Broadview University, University of Phoenix, ITT Technical Institute, Southern New Hampshire University, College of Western Idaho, Pitt Community College, and Halifax Community College.
I am also a writer, and have been published in The Slag Review, Flash Frontier, and Flash: The International Flash Fiction Magazine.
My wife and I have been married for 20 years (in October). I have three great kids, Aidan (18), Sydney (12), and Logan (3). Aidan just graduated high school, and is attending NC State.
